Closing of the Bones
The Closing the Bones ceremony is a deeply nurturing treatment that allows you to be wrapped, held, and focused inward.
Closing of the bones includes being gently massaged with and wrapped or swaddled in rebozos.

More than just physical work, it is deeply energetic work and fulfills the function of a Rite of Passage, something we lack so profoundly in our Western society. Although this is well known during postpartum and for honoring the passage from Maiden to Mother, it is also incredibly healing in time of transition, Menarch (girl receiving her first bleed and welcoming her into womanhood), Mother to Crone, divorce, a death, surgery, birth experience from many years ago, trauma experienced or witnessed, or simply just a calling to let go and receive. It creates a unique space that allows for deep processing and incredibly profound healing by providing a chrysalis or container in which you are deeply held, enabling you to release and be birthed into the next version of yourself (to be unwrapped from your cocoon and emerge as a butterfly).
In many cultures, including shamanic journeying, this is Spirit Canoe, where healing, connecting to Divine Energy, Ancestors, and accessing Internal Wisdom can take place.

What to Expect
I offer a 2-hour ceremony , during which we will begin by preparing ceremonial cocoa (known for its heart-opening effects) and sharing an opening prayer. You may use whichever terminology you'd like for this prayer that will focus on opening space to allow in our higher selves, guardians, and ancestors to assist us in the ceremony. At this time, we will also pull a tarot card(s) for the session.

We will hold space for you to share your experience and what your intentions are (what you want to let go of, and what do you want to call in/what is calling you to this ceremony?)

After your intentions are set, I will prepare a yoni steam, which I will bring both the supplies and herbs that will be specifically chosen for your body (you will have a form to fill out prior to our time together). During your time steaming, you will be invited to do a small meditation that will focus on connecting your heart and womb. This will help draw your energy back to your creative centre: your womb, while holding yourself in love and compassion.

We will then begin the Closing of the Bones wrapping.
I start by wrapping a Rebozo (shawl) around your hips, like a hammock, and gently rocking your hips in a distinctive rhythm – a process we call ‘sifting’ –, allowing the lower vertebrae to be released and allowing mobilization of the pelvis and hips. We take our time during this process, and with all steps of the Closing the Bones, you as a client are in control and get to decide the pace, rhythm, and intensity of the movement and touch.

We then continue by closing your head, shoulders, abdomen, thighs, knees, lower legs, and ankles as well with Rebozo shawls. I cover you up nice and warm with a blanket that swaddles the rebozos, allowing even deeper relaxation. Once ‘closed’, you are able to lie quietly while gentle music plays. Emotional release is possible, and I will hold the space for you to go through this. The firm hold of the cloth allows you to let go and go deep inside. You decide when you are ready to be unwrapped.
-Afterwards, we share a cup of herbal tea or finish our cocoa and have a chat to help integrate the experience.

It has been said that if nothing occurs during your experience, it signifies the need for patience, of integration and assimilation. Do nothing, as this is the period of resting and being completely in the present moment of your life.

This is your experience, and you are welcome to opt out of any of the services listed above for your ceremony and simply receive the wrapping if that is what you are called to.
If you have any questions, I am happy to answer them and look forward to sharing time and space with you.
